Located at 416 Rankin, Nellie Jackson’s (aka Mississippi Madam) place of business was known all over the USA for the services her workers provided.

The property is currently a national monument and under restoration before it opens to the general public.

I first found out about Nellie Jackson in 2018 at the film festival in Los Angeles. Having family members in Natchez and having visiting the city countless times I was finally able to visit the property. Knowing it was one of the top prostitution houses in the region, it is remarkable to see the property. Although it is not small, you wonder how many ladies occupied the rooms at one time? What is known, is it was a very busy place for the influential and those with the resources to frequent the “business.”
