EastcoastTrek 2025 – March on Washington – 62nd Anniversary

This year’s trek started in Houston, then to New York to the District of Columbia and ending in Baltimore.

On Thursday, August 28, 2025 the March on Wall Street took place. It was noted more than one hundred thousand were in attendance from all over the nation to participate in the event.

It commemorated the August 28, 1963 the March on Washington, featuring Rev., Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as the keynote speaker. The event was held at the National Mall, at the Lincoln Memorial.

Marty King, III has continued his father’s legacy in commemorating the event. Years ago, he partnered with Rev. Al Sharpton of the National Action Network in hosting the event. The event was moved from Washington, DC to Wall Street to focus attention to corporate greed and other civil rights issues. It started at the African-American burial site and swung down Broadway to finish in Wall Street adjacent the iconic Bull.

These are a few images from the event.

Following the march we went to the iconic Charles Pan Fried Chicken in Harlem (145th Street).
